About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24hr Free VISA Cruise X Hk to Shanghai then fly to Brisbane

We are doing a 4 day cruise from Hong Kong via Japan which ends in Shanghai. We will leave the ship approx 9am in the morning and stay overnight in Shanghai and fly out of Shanghai 8.30am next day to Brisbane via Hong Kong . We will have 1-1 1/2 hour approximately stopover before our flight leaves to Brisbane . Can we do this on the 24hr Free transit or will we need to purchase a visa before leaving Australia?

You would be able to use the 24h twov in Shanghai. No need to apply for a visa.

Thank you for clearing that up as we have had conflicting information due to the cruise leaving from Hong Kong then having to fly back through Hong Kong in transit
