two stopovers in china (23 hours11 hours) before going to usa

Hello,I have a flight from Indonesia to USA with two stopovers in China (Beijing 23 hours, Shanghai 10 hours) then to USA. Can I use the transit visa? If not, is my option to stay in the airport only for the layovers?  Thank you very much.

You need to apply for visa for this trip.

No you don’t need a visa. China has this 144hrs rules where if you are staying in Beijing or Shanghai less than 144hrs (6days), you don’t need visa.

You need a visa, it's not allow to two city in china for the 144hours transit, if two city, you just can get 24 hours
