About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

US - Hong Kong - Shanhai - Macau - Hong Kong - US

I am flying to Shanghai with a 3 hour layover in Hong Kong on the way. Will be in Shanghai 2 days and then head to Macau and Hong Kong before returning to the US. Will the Hong Kong layover on the way to Shanghai void the 72 hour twov?

There's no 72h visa in China but if you fly HK - Shanghai - Macau you're fine for the 144h twov.
