144 hour visa to travel to Chengdu from Shanghai

My route is LAX-Shanghai-CD-Shanghai-LAX, can I use this 144 visa?

There is no such thing as a "144 visa". There is 144 hours transit without visa, but your route fails on two points: you're not in transit (you're visiting China) and it only allows transit in one of the areas (so not both Shanghai and Chengdu). You must get a visa.
