About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling to Japan via Beijing

Hello,

I am an American citizen traveling from New York to Tokyo via Beijing next month. My connection in Beijing will be less than 24 hours. Am I eligible for 24 hour free transit? If so - what is the application process like?

Yes, you are eligible for 24 hour Visa-free transit. Apply for 24-hour visa-free entry permit in 4 steps:
Fill an Arrival/Departure Card at the border inspection counter; Get the temporary entry permit stamp or sticker; Claim the luggage (if needed); Go through the customs.
