About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

de we qualify for 144 hour visa

My family and I (2 adults and 6 children - all Australia citizens travelling on Australian passports) are travelling from Tel-Aviv, Israel to Melbourne, Australia via Beijing.

Our flight lands in Beijing on Tuesday 9th April and we depart for Melbourne on Sunday 14th April.

I would like to confirm that we are eligible for the 144 free hour transit and do not need any other visa for our stay in China.

Is there anything that we need to do before we arrive in China to ensure we get the visa?

Could you please explain how the actual process works? (before we leave and when we arrive at the airport - is there anything we have to do?)

Yes, you qualify for 144 hour twov in Beijing. You need to inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit in Beijing when you board the airplane, and you'll be granted the entry permit when clearing immigration.
