Flying in & then travelling to Tianjin for a cruise

Hello
Can I confirm that if we fly in to Beijing 60 hours before we travel to Tianjin to meet our cruise ship we can apply for the 144 hour visa, lots of information suggests we have to leave the same way we arrived to be able to apply ? Any help greatly appreciated

You can enter or exit from any of the approved ports in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei province. Just make sure the next cruise port is not in mainland China and is not in the same country you flight lands in Beijing from.
