About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover in Beijing. Will I be allowed without a Visa?

Hi,

I am a Canadian and Pakistani Citizen. I will be traveling to Karachi, Pakistan from Edmonton, Canada through Beijing. Arriving in Beijing at 4:25 PM on Dec 1, 2019 and Departing at 3:30 PM on Dec 2, 2019. About 23 hrs 5 minutes layover. Can I enter Beijing and stay at a hotel close to the airport?

Technically you are eligible for TWOV if traveling on your Canadian passport, but there were reports last year by persons born in Pakistan who were refused entry in Beijing when not holding a visa (a US citizen and a family of New Zealand citizens), so it's up to you whether you want to apply for a visa.
