About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Manila- Chengdu- Hong Kong

Hello, I am a french citizen and I would like to know if it is possible to apply for a 72-Hour Free Transit in Chengdu before going to Hong Kong ?

First, I will leave from Manila to Chendgu, but my plane is not a direct flight and there is a stop in Hong Kong. However, I don't want to go in Hong Kong first. Can I still apply for a 72-Hour Free Transit and take a second flight for Hong Kong after Chengdu ?

Manila- Chengdu- Hong Kong is allowed 144 hours in Chengdu

You fly HK - Chengdu - HK.
This is not a transit and you have to apply for a tourist visa in advance or change your flight.
