144 hr visa? us to shanghai, stay 4 days, board cruise ship

Question

Flying from Los Angeles to Shanghai. Tour  Shanghai for four days. Fifth day board cruise ship bound for South Korea.  No stops by cruise ship to China after leaving Shanghai, only Hong Kong.  When I qualify for the 140 for our vision?
