About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Australian for 144 Hours Transit

If I am travelling from Australia to Shanghai via Taiwan, and returning to Australia from Shanghai via Taiwan, can I apply for a 144 Hours free Transit in Shanghai?

No. You're not in transit at Shanghai because you are flying Taiwan-Shanghai-Taiwan. You need a visa or different flights.
