About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa free shanghai. we are flying from HK to Shanghai with Air China;

then Shanghai to San Francisco, USA; we intend to stay 4 days in Shanghai; do we qualify for 144 Hour Free transit?

It depends where you go next. You need to travel through a different country before returning to the USA.

Hong Kong-Shanghai-USA is fine for 144 hours visa-free transit, if those are your only stops and your passport is from one of the 53 qualifying countries.
