FOR USA PASSPORT HOLDER, IS A VISA REQUIRED TO VISIT CHINA GOING ON A CRUISE FROM CHINA?

I AM WITH A GROUP OF USA, CANADIAN AND PHILIPPINES PASSPORT HOLDERS (50) GOING ON A CRUISE FOR 14 DAYS FROM SHANGHAI AND ENDING UP IN HONG KONG. WE WILL FLY FROM THE USA TO BEIJING AND WOULD LIKE TO VISIT BEIJING FOR TWO DAYS AND ON THE THIRD DAY FLY FROM BEIJUNG TO SHANGHAI AND BOARD THE SHIP, BUT WILL BE ON THE SHIP FOR ONE DAY IN SHANGHAI BEFORE THE SHIP DEPARTS. WHEN WE ARRIVE AT THE END OF THE CRUISE IN HONG KONG, WE WILL STAY ONE DAY AND THEN FLY BACK TO THE USA THE NEXT DAY. DO WE NEED A CHINA VISA FOR THE ABOVE TRAVEL.
