About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Kunming to Shanghai

My flight will go from Kathmandu, Nepal to Kunming to Shanghai, then onward to USA the next day. Will I be able to use this twov in Shanghai for the day? Thanks

It's not a visa. If the time from scheduled arrival in Kunming to scheduled departure from Shanghai is less than 24 hours then you don't need a visa. Otherwise you do.
