About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

USA to Japan to Beijing

We are citizens of USA. We plan to fly from USA to Japan and stay for ten days, then to Beijing for two nights, then fly to USA. OK to utilize 72 hour free transit?

If your Beijing to USA flight has a stop in Japan or mainland China then you will need a visa. Otherwise you won't need a visa.
