stay 2 nights in Beijing then transfer to Tianjin where we board for a 5 night cruise to Japan. We have 2 stops in Japan but no overnight stay. We arrive back from the cruise in Tianjin , transfer to Beijing for one night then fly out to the Uk the next day. Can we use two 144 hour free transit passes for both trips i.e arriving by plane into Beijing and arriving back into Tianjin be ship ? Thanks Sue

If the layover time in Tianjin and Beijing is within 144 hours each way, you can get 144h twov twice.

Hi Maria, thanks for your reply, yes we will be in Beijing for 41 hours on the first part of the visit before boarding the cruise at Tianjin, then returning to Tianjin and Beijing , where we will stay for just over 28 hours, after our 5 day cruise to Japan. I really hope we do qualify for 2 x 144 hour twov's as Visas for 4 people is so expensive.

Yes it qualifies as long as none of the flights also go through Japan. You don't need to stay overnight in any Japanese ports as long as the boat visits, even if they are just daytime stops.
