About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Free 72 hour visa travelling by cruise ship

I am looking at taking a cruise that starts in Hong Kong with the next stop in Shanghai for a little less than 3 days. Would the 72 hour free transit valid for this visit and if so, where do I get it?

If the next stop after Shanghai is not HK, you can get the free transit. No need to apply for visa.
