About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong > Guangzhou > Macau > Hong Kong

Hello,

I am looking to travel from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to Macau and then back to Hong Kong.
I am looking at taking the high speed trains between Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Macau.
I will be spending less than 24 hours in Guangzhou and then leaving straight to Macau.

Will this acceptable for the 24 hour free transit?

You need a visa for that.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

Would you mind explaining why we need a visa for this route?
I was hoping this route will mean that Guanzhou is used as a transit stop (as we will only be there for 20 hours) as I will be traveling straight to Macau afterwards.
