About:Shenzhen North Railway Station

Where do I apply for a 144 hr transit visa if travelling by train from HK to Shanghai ?

I am UK citizen .

If you mean the high speed ride from HK to Shanghai, you cannot use 144 hours visa free policy. This immigration port do not support visa free stay.

With transit visas you are only allowed to go a certain distance from the entry point. Different ports have different distances, but for example Guangzhou will allow you to go through Shenzhen to HK, and vice versa, but traveling overland to Shanghai goes out of the local visa district.
