About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shenzhen from HK, to Macau

I'm wondering if I could take the MTR (local train) from Hong Kong to the Shenzhen border at Lo Wu, walk across, then leave 23 hours later with pre-booked ticket on the Shenzhen-Macau ferry?

Many have tried and failed. Land border control will not allow people without the appropriate entry documents to enter China even when they are in transit. If you want to take the HSR your only choice is to get a tourist visa as there is no VOA facility in the train station.

Scratch that. That will work but you have to buy a VOA at Luohu during business hours. After you get the VOA you can stay for a maximum of 5 days.

Thanks.
I've done the 5-day one before (but I thought you had to leave from the same entry point you came in?)

I was asking about the 24-hour twov.

You will need visa. Shenzhen TWOV is not available when traveling to HK and Macau

You can leave from any port of entry with an VOA as long as it's within Shenzhen (some claimed that they've left from Shenzhen airport years back but it's unknown whether it works now).
