About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Beijing 144 hour visa exemption but coming and going

Panning a trip from LAX to PEK, stay in PEK for 5 days then continue to TOKYO, stay in Tokyo for 5 days then fly back to PEK, spend one night in PEK and fly back to LAX. Do I need a visa?
