About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa clarification. My wife and I are arriving Shanghai from the UK on the 3rd Jan 19

into the airport and join a cruise ship on the 5th Jan 19, can we apply for a 144 hour transit exemption on arrival?

If the next country you will visit after transiting in Shanghai is not UK, you will qualify for the 144h twov in Shanghai. No visa will be needed.
