Arriving by air departing by cruise

I will qualify for the 144hr twov, but if I show my cruise ticket (vs. an airline confirmation) will that still qualify for the 144hr twov?

I will be flying nonstop from Dallas to Shanghai. The cruise departs Shanghai and the next port is Hong Kong. We head south from there and do not return to China. I am in Shanghai for 4 days.
