About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arrive by ship

Arrive Shanghai by ship 6 am and fly 1 pm to Japan following day. Australian passport. Do I get 144 hr free transit exemption???

Only if the last stop immediately before Shanghai is not in Japan and not in mainland China.
