About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Question. Can we enter the country on the 24 hour visa free?

We are flying from Toronto to Beijing with a quick one hour stop in Nanjing.

On the way here the stop in Nanjing is on the second part of our journey. So toronto to Beijing, with a 21 hour layover, beijing quick stop in Nanjing and then to Sydney?

On the way home the stop is on the way to Beijing.

Will that stop over effect us?

As long as the time between scheduled arrival in Beijing and scheduled departure from Nanjing is less than 24 hours then you can do the 24 hour transit. If its over 24 then a visa will be required as longer transit requires a single landing only. On the way back if the only landing is in Beijing then you can use the 144 hour twov.
