About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

We are Canadians, flying from Nairobi Kenya to Auckland New Zealand

with 3 different layovers in China. We land in Guangzhou from Nairobi and then continue to Nanjing to Shenzhen to Auckland. Do we need a visa to transit through GZ? Our itinerary says we only need to collect our baggage in Nanjing, when our carrier changes, but the direction on this website indicates we will in fact need to collect our baggage when we land in GZ. Is that correct? Our layover is only 1 hour 50 minutes.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you need to apply for Chinese visa in advance and you also need to collect your baggage when you transfer in GZ. The transfer procedures are Flight Arrival - Inspection & Quarantine - Frontier Inspection - Baggage Claim - Customs Inspection - Transfer Procedure - Security Check - Waiting & Boarding.
