About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Are We Allowed To Transit Without Visa

US Passport

have one ticket from JFK to PVG 11/26 arriving at PVG on 11/27
another ticket from PVG to BKK 11/28

Note: ticket is NOT JFK - BKK with layover in PVG

Still allowed for transit without visa? Please help! Thank you!

separate tickets are allowed. Just make sure none of the tickets line in china other than the Shanghai stop.
