About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from Country A to Guangzhou and back to Country A

Does anyone here know if it's possible to fly from Country A (Canada), to Guangzhou for the 144 hour period, and back to Canada again? Essentially this is a return flight to China for the weekend.

Yes it's possible if you get a visa in advance. It's obviously not eligible for transit without visa, because it's not a transit of China.
