Visa Free Transfer through Shenzhen Bao'an December

Hi, can I travel from the UK via SZ to Taiwan in December 2018 without a visa (as a UK citizen)? And how long can my transfer in SZ be? I'm about to book a flight but I just want to make sure that it's ok not to have a Mainland China visa for this journey before I do so.
