About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 layovers in China

I'm holding Thailand passport and have American visa. I'm going to fly from Thailand to Kunming and stop there for 18 hours then fly to Shanghai and stop there for 6 hours before I fly to Hawaii. Am I still eligible for 24 hour free transit or do I need to request 72 hour free transit?

Thank you in advance!

72 hours transit without visa is a non-starter because Thai nationals do not qualify. Moreover, two stops limits you to 24 hours in China from scheduled arrival time in Kunming to scheduled departure time from Shanghai. More than 24 hours requires a visa in advance or different flights.
