Transit Visa. I am flying Los Angeles to Siem Reap with a 3 hour layover in Guangzhou.

Then a week later I will be flying back from Siem Reap to Los Angeles with another layover in Guangzhou (9 hours this time).
Do I need to have a transit G thru China for these two layovers (round-trip ticket)?
