uk national arriving at guangzhou airport but leaving on a train to hong kong the same

Question

I will be arriving at Guangzhou airport on a flight from Cairo and will immediately take a taxi to the railway station to catch a train to Hong Kong. Do i need to apply or do anything in advance? Will i be required to show anything before boarding the flight in Cairo? Do i need to book a train to Hong Kong in advance? Many thanks.

You can apply for 24h twov at Guangzhou, and you need to inform the airline company in advance that you want to use the free transit in Guangzhou, and then show the tickets to HK to apply for that at the airport.
