UK national arriving at Guangzhou airport but leaving on a train to Hong Kong the same day.

I will be arriving at Guangzhou airport on a flight from Cairo and will immediately take a taxi to the railway station to catch a train to Hong Kong. Do i need to apply or do anything in advance? Will i be required to show anything before boarding the flight in Cairo? Do i need to book a train to Hong Kong in advance? Many thanks.
