Visiting Beijing for 28 hours after cruise stops in HK and Taiwan

My partner and I are US/Canadian citizens on a Tokyo-Singapore Cruise. After the cruise we’re flying on our own from Singapore to Beijing to see the Great Wall. 28 hours later we will fly from Beijing to Los Angeles to finish our trip. It looks like our Singapore-Beijing-Los Angeles trip qualifies for the 72-hour Visa-free permit. However, is it disqualifying that our cruise made stops in Hong Kong and Taiwan a few days earlier? This may be a dumb question but I think it’s better to double-check than be stuck at Beijing Airport and denied entry. Thanks very much!

Hong Kong and Taiwan (as well as Macau) are treated as international destinations for Chinese immigration, and therefore you don't need a visa.
