Do I need a visa to fly from US to Beijing’s? (US passport + HK ID + home return permit)

I have the three document listed above, they’re all valid. Can I fly directly from US to Beijing without a China visa? Anyone with same experience will be super helpful. Thanks!

If your travel route would be US-Beijing(6 days)-another country or region instead of US, you can apply for 144h twov in Beijing. No visa will be required.
