Ticket to third country has layover at Chinese country. Is this allowable with the 144 hour twov

I am a US citizen visiting Beijing for a few days. I am purchasing a ticket from Beijing to a third country. The flight has a layover in Xiamen before continuing to the 3rd country destination. Is this allowed.
