About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa exemption...?

I am a German citizen traveling from USA to Hong Kong (4days) to Shanghai (5 days) to USA. Do I qualify for the 144 hour free transit exemption?

You qualify if your Shanghai to USA flight is non-stop and does not land in either Hong Kong or mainland China.
