About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have US passport from LA traveling to Philippines stopover at Shanghai. Pls advise regarding TWOV

You can apply for free transit in Shanghai in this trip. Procedure
Inform the airlines when boarding – Fill an Arrival/Departure Card on the flight - Apply the free transit – Claim the luggage – Go through the custom - Leave airport
