About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have an 11 hour layover and just want to go to a hotel

Do I have to pick up my bags in Shanghai and go through immigration and security, or can I have them put through to my final destination in Auckland?

I fly with China eastern Amsterdam to Shanghai, then Shanghai to Auckland.

You can contact with the airlines to see if your luggage will be delivered to the final destination directly. If yes, you don’t need to check out your luggage. Otherwise, you need to check your luggage out at the airport.
