Train from UB to Beijing from USA

If I take the train from Ulan Baatar to Beijing and then plan to take a ship to japan. Can I use the 144 hour free visa?

According to the policy, you are not eligible for 144-hour visa free as you will arrive at Beijing Railway Station after your train journey from Ulan Baatar to Beijing. But 144-hour visa free can only be applied at Beijing West Railway Station or Beijing Capital International Airport. However, if you choose to take an international flight from Ulan Baatar to Beijing, then you can apply for it.
