We would like to spend the night in an airport hotel before boarding our continuing flight the next morning for Shanghai, and then boarding another flight the same morning for Hong Kong.  Will we be able to use a 72 hour TWOV.Thank you,Teresa

You cannot use the free transit in Beijing because of the layover in Shanghai. But if you total layover time in Beijing and Shanghai is within 24 hours, you can apply for the 24h twov. Otherwise, you should apply for a visa for the trip beforehand.
