About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, Hong Kong - Shanghai - Macau

We want to travel from Hong Kong (A) to Shanghai (B), and than to Macau (C). Although both destinations A and C are outside Mainland China, does this route qualify for the 144-hour stay?
