About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

take train from beijing to shanghai

I'm flying from Mongolia to Beijing and would like to take the train to shanghai and fly from Shanghai back to the US. Do I need a regular visa or can I get a transit one? I'll be in China for less than 144 hours.

You cannot travel between Shanghai and Beijing on a 144 hour TWOV.
