About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 hour stopover in Shanghai

We are on a cruise, originating in Tokyo and going to multiple ports in Japan and Korea. We arrive in Shanghai from Seoul South Korea. From Shanghai we are flying home to the United States. Are we eligible for a 72/144 hour visa free entry to China?

Sorry if this is duplicate can't remember if I answered yesterday (my posts seem to get stuck in a moderator queue)

Yes eligible as long as the flight does not make a stop in Korea on the way to the United States
