Am I qualified for 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit policy?

I'm holding a Canadian passport and I will take a flight from Canada to Beijing. Stay there less than 144 hours and then take a flight to Thailand. Am I qualified to the 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit policy? If so, where and how can I get it?

Yes, you are qualified for 144-hour visa free if you hold Canadian passport. You need to apply for the 144-hour visa free at China Immigration Inspection in Beijing Capital International Airport upon arrival.

The documents needed for application are the valid Canadian passport for at least 3 months from the date to entry, ticket to Thailand with confirmed seat and date as well as the fully completed Arrival/Departure Card. After you clear the formalities, you are able to leave the airport.
