About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Beijing 144 free visa

I am traveling from Japan to Beijing but my flight has a 1.5 layover in Seoul. After my stay in Beijing I need to fly to Seoul to catch my flight back to the US. Will Beijing consider my flight from Japan or Seoul? Thanks

It would be looked at as Korea > China > Korea which is not eligible for the TWOV.
