About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa for NZ Citizen visiting Beijing from Hong Kong?

I am travelling to Hong Kong on a NZ passport and then want to visit Beijing for 3-days before I fly back to New Zealand.

If I am flying into Beijing from Hong Kong and then flying out of Beijing to New Zealand (with a 2 hour connecting flight in Hong Kong on the return). Am I eligible for the 144-hour twov?

You are not eligible. HKG-PEK-HKG requires a visa.
