stop over flying from moscow to tokyo

Question

My friend is considering China air from Moscow to Tokyo with a stop in PEK. How to get 24 hour transfer? Does he need that visa at all?  Will he need to receive his luggage at the airport in PEK or will the luggage go all the way to Tokyo? How much time should we look to have for safe transfer? Thank you

Upon arrival, your friend can show the tickets and passports at the immigration counter to apply for the free transit in Beijing. Please contact with the airlines to ask if the luggage will be delivered to the final destination directly. If yes, you don’t need to claim it after arrival. Usually, 2 to 3 hours would be enough for the transfer.
