About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Moscow- Urumqi- Beijing- Hanoi

Hi,
I have a flight from Moscow to Ha Noi, transit 2 cities: Urumqi then Beijing with recheck luggage.
I have read that 24 hour visa free transit applied for some airport not included Urumqi.
So, my question is: 24 hour visa free transit applied for all airport (internation/domestic) or not?

Both Urumqi and Beijing are included in 24 hour visa free transit scheme, so there is no problem at all in this regard. Your itinerary is logical and eligible, but there is one big question. That question is, is your entire transit time in China longer than 24 hours? The transit time is calculated from your first landing until your last departure in China based strictly on your scheduled arrival/departure times. It is not that you can add up your waiting time in Urumqi and Beijing, but you have add up also the time of your flight between Urumqi and Beijing. In other words, if your arrival scheduled time in Urumqi is 08:05, the last time you are allowed to depart from Beijing is 08:05 of the next day and not a single minute longer than that. I am telling you that because I can see that Air China is offering a very affordable connection between Moscow and Hanoi with stops in Urumqi and Beijing, but the problem is the fact that departure time from Beijing is slightly behind the 24 hour time frame. You should be careful about the time, but you are fine with your routing. Now, it is up to you to check this "time" detail. Also, it is the itinerary of this kind usually requires that you will have to collect and re-check your luggage in both Urumqi and in Beijing. This is not a problem, but you should definitely check the time aspect. Hopefully, you are within 24 hour time frame and if you are, you are good to go and your itinerary will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit. If this is not the case, you will have to obtain a Chinese transit (G) visa in advance. I hope that this will not be necessary. Have a nice journey.
