About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I apply for two transits on two separate arrivals?

We are flying from US to Hong Kong (staying for a couple days) then off to Beijing (hoping to apply for the 144 hours twov) then go to South Korea (staying for a couple days) then go to Shanghai (hoping to apply for the 72 or 144 hours twov) then back to Hong Kong and then US. Is this possible without applying for a visa?

Hong Kong > Beijing (up to 144 hours) > South Korea is one transit without visa
South Korea > Shanghai (up to 144 hours) > Hong Kong is another
USA > Hong Kong & Hong Kong > USA portions are not counted since what matters is immediately before and Immediately after China. Hong Kong is considered its own country for TWOV purposes
