Cruise from Shanghai...

We are traveling from the US to Shanghai in January 2019 to board a cruise ship on February 3rd. We would like to spend some time in Shanghai. Is it possible to arrive on Jan 31 and leave February 3rd without a Visa or should we shoot for arrival on Feb. 1

If you will travel like USA-Shanghai(144 hours)-another country or region instead of USA, you can arrive in Shanghai without visa because you are eligible for the 144h twov in there.
